OFF THE WALL Album

Released in August 1979 "Off The Wall" was Michael's first solo album as an adult artist.
He wanted this album to be the best it could be. He needed someone with great experience and had met Quincy Jones on the set on the movie "The Wiz" and Quincy produced the album.

Michael wanted the sound of the album to be different from that of the Jackson's who had just had there biggest album success with the album "Destiny".

Michael wanted songs that were good for him to sing and that he could move to. In came Rod Temperton who penned "Rock With You" a big hit, "Burn This Disco Out" and the title track.

Bad Album

Released in 1987 in August 1987 Michael had devoted two and a half years to recording the follow up to the Thriller album , which at the time of the Bad albums release had sold over 40 million records and was the world best selling album.

Michael again worked with Quincy Jones as producer, and they both set out to make the most perfect album humanly possible

The album has sold over 30 million copies

Thriller Album

As an adult solo artist Michael Jackson set his sights as high as possible and dreamed of creating the best selling album in the world. The albums aim was for every single to be a stand out track, and 7 of the albums 9 songs were released as singles. The exceptions being "Baby Be Mine" and "The Lady In My Life".

In fact it was MTV who actually funded the 14 minute Thriller video which went on to become a record breaker in its own right after the record label had refused to fund a third album video, being fully satisfied with the albums success.
